Day 16 | Emergency Operation Center Meeting and Chiputula Primary School Visit

We started our day with an Emergency Operation Center (EOC) meeting at Mzimba North District Health Office (DHO) from 9 am. We discussed the upcoming polio vaccination campaign plan and shared updates on current preparation statuses, including service delivery, finance, monitoring and supervision, vaccines and cold chain, social mobilization, and surveillance. We will take turns to join the COVID-19 vaccination campaign with the DHO starting tomorrow!

After the meeting, we visited the Chiputula Primary School to schedule our plan for the nutrition education classes. We (Miku and Penny) met the teachers and students from the 6th grade in shift two and introduced ourselves. The students were happy to see us and excited for our nutrition classes starting next week. The head teacher approved our pre-assessment questionnaire for the nutrition education classes, so we have finalized our questionnaire and will provide it to the students tomorrow. We also checked the current garden progress, and the seedlings were growing well. The students are taking care of the nursery every day, and the seedlings will be transplanted into the beds this Friday🎉
