About us

National Taiwan University faculty and students are collaborating with (1) Luke International (LIN) Malawi Office and Pingtung Christian Hospital to promote global health education and local care in Taiwan and Malawi. This project aims to expand students’ global perspective and global health practice abilities through hands on activities that could improve existing public health criteria and lifestyle. Due to the current Covid pandemic, students are unable to travel to Malawi, therefore for 2021, project contents has been revised to (1) virtual participation in Malawi’s global health activities; (2) organize educational and practical courses, workshops, and conferences in Taiwan; (3) establish a sustainable global health platform and network. Actual implementation of the project may still have to be adjusted due to constant and rapid changes of the pandemic.

Malawi is one of the least developed countries in the world, and suffered massive losses from COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, we plan to implement community pandemic control and health promotion through existing collaborative networks, in order to support current needs and future sustainable development goals, including (1) assisting pandemic control in northern parts of Malawi; (2) cultivate global health and health promotion professionals from Taiwan and Malawi; (3) promote community and school nutrition, WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), and health promotion.
