Day 3: Health Equity

May and I have introduced some knowledge about “Health Equity” to our little friends. Surprisingly, the kids can grasp all the information very quickly, albeit the topic’s abstract nature! With tremendous support from Linh and other group leaders, we have tried our best to deliver as simple as possible necessary concepts about how and where we could get the medical supplies for our health in the community.

At first, there were some concerns regarding understanding new vocabulary words. However, our Chinese translator – May – clearly explained all the meanings of every word in a very simple way. Each group had individuals talented in English skills, creativity, and art. This was represented during group discussion activities, such as drawing the “Community map” and playing the Team Race game at the end of the presentation. I was personally impressed with a couple friends in particular, they were really smart and fluent in English at a very young age! I believe they can become even more excellent in the future!

Last but not least, we greatly appreciate all the assistance and efforts of everyone involved to help May, Linh, and me complete all the tasks of today’s lesson!
